Lot 1125 Enfield No. 2 Mk I** .38-200 #ZB7709
English made WW2 military issued double-action top-break revolver chambered for .38 Smith & Wesson, and manufactured from 1932 to 1957. One of the standard British Commonwealth side arms in WW2, and in service from 1932-1963. Pistol features a wartime matte black finish, a 5" flat-sided barrel, pinned blade front sight, notch rear sight on barrel latch, six-round fluted cylinder, 10.25" overall length, smooth curved trigger, external hammer without a spur, lanyard ring on heel, cylinder protectors, smooth grip straps, brass disc in right grip panel, and black grooved bakelite grips with thumb rests. Matching serial numbers on barrel, frame, and cylinder (ZB7709). There are numerous observed British proofs including "Cal.38, and a date of "43" on top of the barrel. The cylinder is stamped "S.B.N. 769." The right side of the frame is stamped "FIR/53," with the broad arrow and various proof marks. The original matte black finish retained is approximately 87% showing some flaking, edge wear, light scratches, and some thinning on the grip straps. Metal displays no rust, but some of the screw slots show deformation, and the outside edge of the barrel is a little rough. The action works well, but the cylinder lock-up is a little loose. The bore is bright with strong rifling, and the cylinder chambers are also very good to excellent. The plastic grips are in very good condition with light scratches and blemishes.
